Wikimedia Commons is a side project of Wikipedia, which is run by the Wikimedia foundation. Effectively, their aim is to provide a central database of pictures that can be used in all of the various Wikimedia projects, the main one being the English language Wikipedia. Requirements for inclusion in the Commons are more lax than on Wikipedia itself; it allows virtually anything that is not in copyright and is not an exact duplicate of something else. It has accumulated a large number of sexually explicit photographs, often posing as innocuous subjects such as "Prince Albert" and "bananas". It is thus unsuitable for children under 18.
