Video games controversy
Video games controversy have been a subject of argument between leading professionals and restriction and prohibition. Criticism revolves around games which depict graphic violence, virtual sex, nudity, portrayal of criminal behavior and other provocative or objectional material. A known activist in this field is a disbarred lawyer, J. Thompson.
Video games have been studied for links to addiction and aggression. Some studies have found that video games do not contribute to these problems.
Other groups have stated that there aren't many, if any, proven studies which back these claims up, and that video games are just another scapegoat to blame for many daily problems in society.
Some researchers propose that video games have a potential positive effect on social and cognitive development, and psychological well-being.
Examples of controversial games are the Grand Theft Auto series and Fortnight.
