Narrow front strategy

From Encyc

Narrow front strategy means focusing the offensive along a narrow section of the front. This allows overwhelming force to be applied at the point of attack. It is also more economical in terms of resources. The downside is that if the attack is not quick enough, the enemy can bring in their strategic reserve to stop it.

Montgomery favored the narrow front strategy.
