Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a city in Nevada. It started as one of the few places in the desert where water could be obtained and as a mining town. In the 1950's, it developed it as a tourist attraction, with legalized gambling and prostitution and a heavy mafia presence. In recent years Las Vegas has tried to clean up its image and become more family-friendly. It in the last twenty years it has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.
