Georgy ZhukovGeorgy Zhukov was a Soviet general during World War II. He first became famous for repelling a Japanese invasion in Mongolia. During Operation Barbarossa, he arrived in Moscow with reinforcements in just enough time to defend the city. Later in the war he led Soviet forces to victory at Stalingrad and Kursk, broke the Siege of Leningrad, destroyed the German center with Operation Bagration invaded Germany and led the Battle of Berlin. |
