Gaul

Gaul was an ancient Celtic civilization in present-day France and Northern Italy. The Gauls were conquered by the Romans, led by Julius Caesar?. Cisalpine Gaul was the part of Gaul closer to Rome. Transalpine Gaul, on the far side of the Alps, was farther from Rome. It later became known as Gaullia Narbonensis.

Gaul is represented in the computer game, Rome Total War.

Asterix is the most famous Gaul in the world.
