East Prussia

East Prussia was a region of Germany before World War II. It was conquered by the Red Army ?, and divided up between Poland, Russia, and Lithuania ?. The capital of Konigsberg ? was renamed Kaliningrad ?.

It was originally inhabited by a tribe of Balts called the Prussians. These were conquered by the Teutonic Knights, a group of Germans from the west, in the 13th century, and converted to Christianity.
