Alexander The Great

Alexander the Great was the ruler of a large Greek empire extending from Greece and Egypt to India. Starting with a small kingdom in Macodonia?, he first conquered Greece, before heading east and defeating the Persian Empire? in a series of large battles.

Alexander died from disease on his return trip from India. Following his death his empire split into various pieces that survived for hundreds more years. Much of the Middle East? was Hellenized? during this time period.
